R. J. Snell, Ph.D. – April 2

Art(ificial) Intelligence: The Artist as Person in a Technological Age

We have witnessed a conflict of interpretations about the human: either we are like machines or we are spontaneous expressions of freedom. Neither of these interpretations allow for human intelligence as it actually is, and certainly not intelligence in the domains of practical wisdom or poesis. Genuine art, in our time, given the cultural conditions, requires a recovery of intelligence and the role of intelligence in our makings and creativity.
